Boulder-based Flatirons Solutions Corp. received a 2012 Excellence in Services Integration award from EMC Corp. The award was given to the partner who has shown the highest level of excellence and innovation in its customer solutions, demonstrated proven deep technical expertise in IIG products, and gone above and beyond in working effectively with EMC Professional Services.
Andrew Davison, chief marketing officer at Niwot-based Crocs Inc., received a silver Stevie Award in the Marketing Executive of the Year category at the 2012 American Business Awards. Davison was recognized for helping to elevate and evolve Crocs’ marketing strategy and programs during the past year. Also, Crocs’ executive team was awarded a silver Stevie Award in the Management Team of the Year category for the role it played in the brand’s global expansion and financial success during the past year, reaching the $1 billion revenue mark in late 2011.

Lafayette’s city manager Gary Klaphake was named the 2011 Safety Manager of the Year by the Colorado Intergovernmental Risk Sharing Agency at the Colorado Municipal League Annual Conference on June 20. According to the nomination, Klaphake sets an example for others by adhering to safety policies and procedures, fully supports the efforts of the risk manager and safety committee, promotes safety among employees, and inspires a culture in which safety is considered a value and an integral part of all operations.
Juan Mohr was recognized for years of service to St. Vrain Valley Credit Union at the Education Credit Union Council’s annual conference held in Savannah, Georgia. Mohr served on the credit union’s board of directors for 24 years. As a former teacher, Mohr’s passion for educating youth made him an advocate for St. Vrain Valley Credit Union to establish a financial education program in 1994. This program grew from conducting classroom presentations to opening a student-run branch in 1997 to being an early adopter of the FoolProof financial literacy programs. His support and commitment to financial education helped St. Vrain Valley Credit Union receive the Education Credit Union Council’s first FoolProof award in 2011. St. Vrain merged with Elevations Credit Union in September 2011.
Premier Members Federal Credit Union employee Stephanie Schneider received the Elder Abuse Awareness and Prevention award June 14 for protecting an 85-year-old credit union member. Schneider noticed the possibility of financial exploitation when the member’s caregiver came into the branch and requested to be added to the member’s accounts. From there, Schneider took the necessary steps to prevent the abuse from continuing and collected as much information as possible for the police.
Financial services firm Edward Jones, which has branch offices in Boulder County, was named the Advisory Solutions Firm of the Year by the Money Management Institute as the firm that most exemplified overall excellence and contributed to the long-term success and sustainability of the wealth-management industry.
