FlexJobs buys telecommuting-job board

BOULDER – Job posting subscription website FlexJobs.com is buying T-Jobs.com, a telecommuting-job board.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed between Boulder-based FlexJobs.com and Mundelein, Illinois-based T-Jobs.com. FlexJobs wants T-Jobs for the company’s domain name and customer base, said Sara Sutton Fell, chief executive and founder of FlexJobs.

Flexjobs has 23 employees – all of whom work from home – including six in Colorado, Sutton Fell said. T-Jobs’ “three or four” employees will no longer work for the company, she said.

Computer subscribers pay $14.95 per month or $49.95 per year to access telecommuting jobs found on FlexJobs.com, Sutton Fell said. The company had about 25,000 users before buying T-Jobs, she said.

Since the FBI has identified “work from home” online jobs as a top potential scam into which computer users can fall, she said, her company offers full refunds to any customer who is not satisfied.

“If you look up ‘telecommuting’ or ‘work from home,’ there are a lot of scams,” she said. “We identify that all of the jobs are legitimate.”

Jobs in the health and medical industries are the most common on her website, Sutton Fell said. Buying the website will help FlexJobs.com grow more this year, she said.

The privately funded company was founded in 2007.
