Organic Center refutes London study
BOULDER – The Organic Center in Boulder issued a statement Wednesday refuting claims made in a recent study that suggests the nutritional benefits of organic food are “not important.”
A paper about the study results, which is scheduled to appear in the September edition of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, downplays the health benefits of organic food, according to a letter written by Charles Benbrook, chief scientist of the Organic Center.
The center’s statement said Dangour’s remarks could erode consumer confidence in the inherent nutritional and health benefits of organic food.
