It’s all about political fallout

As we all take time to digest the meaning of the recent election results — like the razor-thin margin by which Colorado voters preserved affirmative action — one item leaps to the fore: In appreciation for voters defeating Amendment 58 and continuing the industry’s $321 million tax break, oil and gas producers warn that they may have to cut investment in the state during 2009 anyway.

Gee, I thought the campaign ads said that would only happen if we redirected their subsidies to education?
