Hospital systems duel for Wellington clinics

WELLINGTON — Two regional hospital systems are pressing ahead with plans for new medical centers, both angling for shares of the health-care market in this small but growing town with one half-time doctor.
United Medical Center of Cheyenne will establish a foothold in the small community 10 miles north of Fort Collins next spring by opening a primary-care clinic in an existing building.
Meanwhile, Poudre Valley Health System of Fort Collins is collaborating with a group of doctors and other providers to build a similar clinic, with the timeline for new construction yet to be determined.
