Hewlett-Packard’s PCs get poor grade
Hewlett-Packard Co. received a failing grade in PC Magazine’s annual survey of its subscribers.
The magazine’s reader gave the Hewlett-Packard Co. brand the lowest possible grade for performance for desktop computers.
In a letter grading system of “A” through “E,” “HP received an “E.” The top brands in the survey included Dell and Apple, which receive “As.”

In the laptop and notebook computer category, HP did much better, receiving a “B” letter grade. IBM, Toshiba and Apple all received “As.”
In the computer printer category, which is traditionally a leading product for HP, the company received an “A” plus.
