Health club coming to downtown Fort Collins
FORT COLLINS — There’s a new health club coming to the Opera Galleria in downtown Fort Collins. The Old Town Athletic Club signed a lease for nearly 5,000 square feet in the historic downtown landmark.
Co-owners Shane Bennett and John Ryan expect the club to be operating by mid-April.
Bennett, who has been a personal trainer for more than a decade, said the club will include 50,000 pounds of free-weight equipment, a 1,500-square-foot cardio theater and daily aerobics classes including Tae bo and yoga.
“We want our facility to have more of a personal touch,” Bennett said. “We want to know the members’ names when they come in the door.”

The club will also offer free day care for members and validate parking for the nearby Mason Street parking structure.
Pattie Spencer, broker associate with Realtec NAI in Fort Collins, said the deal will result in all of the retail space on the first floor of the two-story Opera Galleria being leased.
