ConAgra spends big on planning for Loveland?
The Eye is always within earshot of the latest rumor, and always happy to pass along those that seem to have some substance.
Take this one: “Commercial intelligence,” according to a well-placed Greeley confidante, shows that ConAgra has spent many thousands on architectural work for a new headquarters at the McWhinney bothers’ Global Technology Center northwest of Interstate 25 and U.S. Highway 34 in Greeley.
Makes sense, since ConAgra’s name already shows up on city planning records as an occupant of the site.

In the Eye’s other ear came this tidbit, also from a reliable construction business insider: ConAgra has entered into a design/build contract with the Neenan Cos. in Fort Collins.
This makes sense, too. David Neenan, a mentor of sorts to Chad and Troy McWhinney, is building much of what’s going up at the Global Technology Center, including a fancy phased office project occupied partly by Factual Data Corp.
And here’s why rumors stay rumors, at least for a while. Neenan, asked whether he had inked anything with ConAgra, said, “If we have, I wouldn’t be able to talk to you about it.”
