TerraLux raises $4.5 million in equity round

LONGMONT – TerraLux Inc. in Longmont has completed a new round of equity funding worth $4.5 million, according to filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Longmont-based TerraLux designs, patents and manufactures LED-based lighting. LED is an acronym for light-emitting diode.

TerraLux officials could not be reached for comment on the new round of funding. But the company, founded in 2003, has been no stranger to raising venture capital.

The company raised $2.1 million last summer and another $18.3 million about a year ago. TerraLux also raised a $5.7 million Series A round in 2010.

TerraLux moved from Gunbarrel to Longmont in 2010 to accommodate expansion.
