The money will be used to implement a program called the School Health Policy and Practice Data Collection Program.
The purpose of the program is to improve the effectiveness of health and wellness efforts in Colorado schools by streamlining resources and reporting for health professionals in Colorado schools.
The effort will take place over the course of five years, with the first year serving as a planning year.
Some schools in Colorado report health information, but others do not, according to Helayne Jones, president and CEO of the Colorado Legacy Foundation.
This effort, in conjunction with the Colorado Department of Education, will seek to standardize the reporting of health information on a school level.
