The metro area as a whole boasted 168 luxury sales, up from 149 for the same month a year ago but down slightly from the 177 in July of this year. Luxury homes that sold in August were on the market a bit longer than a year ago, selling in an average of 78.3 days versus 67.5 days last year.

The most-expensive home sale in the region last month was 32 Polo Club Circle in Denver. The four-bedroom, six-bathroom, 9,330-square-foot home sold for $5,321,200.

“Prices have leveled off as well (as inventory increasing) in recent months and that’s been encouraging to buyers,” Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage president Chris Mygatt said in a release. “It will be interesting to see what the fall home-buying season brings this year.”
