Asking for what you need

Some workers don’t want to “bother” the boss. They don’t feel entitled or worthy. Some don’t want to appear “needy.” Many of us simply never learned that it was OK to ask for what we need. So, we suffer in silence. We make do. When workers suffer, often the organization suffers as well.
The wisdom of the Rolling Stones comes to mind:
“You can’t always get what you want …
But if you try sometimes well you might find
You get what you need.”
Ask for what you want. You may be told, “No.” But you may actually end up getting more than you ever dreamed possible.

One thing is for sure: you will never know unless you ask.
So go on. Ask.
