Oskar Blues opening Boulder taproom

BOULDER — Oskar Blues Brewery is opening its first Boulder location with a taproom and live music venue on Pearl Street.

The Longmont-based brewery will lease the former World of Beer space at 921 Pearl St. and expects to open in late summer.

More than 20 taps will be at the Boulder location, featuring not just Oskar Blues brews but also offerings from partner breweries such as Cigar City Brewing in Tampa, Fla., and Perrin Brewing from Comstock Park, Mich.

How dispatchable resources enable the clean energy transition

Platte River must prepare for the retirement of 431 megawatts (MW) of dispatchable, coal-fired generation by the end of the decade and address more frequent extreme weather events that can bring dark calms (periods when there is no sun or wind).

The taproom will offer food and a to-go area where pedestrians can take away their canned beer.

“Over the years, we’ve developed great relationships in the Boulder community with BolderBoulder, University of Colorado, Gold Rush Rally and through the efforts of the CAN’d Aid Foundation with groups like the Boulder Mountainbike Alliance,” Chad Melis, marketing director at Oskar Blues, said in a prepared statement. “The live music scene and connection to the outdoors is at the core of the Oskar Blues culture. We’re stoked to extend our front door to Pearl Street and Boulder proper.”

The Boulder taproom makes 14 locations for Oskar Blues, including its Longmont headquarters, original Lyons location, Colorado Springs, Denver, Brevard, N.C.; and Austin, Texas.
