Car dealerships nix plan to build on “Dealin’ Doug” land in Windsor

It appears “Dealin’ Doug” Moreland will have to go back to the drawing board to come up with plans for land he purchased southeast of the junction of I-25 and Colorado Highway 392.

The Coloradoan reports that a pair of Fort Collins car dealerships that had planned to move to the Windsor site site — Fort Collins Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram and Tynan’s Nissan and Kia — have nixed their plans due to delays by the two cities in approving an amendment to the intergovernmental agreement on land uses for the property. A Fort Collins Dodge official told the paper that he instead plans to expand at the dealership’s current site and explore building a second dealership at the site of the former United Building Centers lumber yard.
