Boulder chamber 2007 leadership accepting applications

BOULDER – The deadline for applying to the Leadership Boulder County class of 2007 is Dec. 4. Applications are available from the Boulder Chamber of Commerce as well as online at www.boulderchamber.com .

Now in its 26th year, Leadership Boulder County is a five-month program that introduces participants to prominent leaders in their community and educates them about a wide variety of Boulder County programs and institutions.

The program focuses on local and regional issues and participants are exposed to a variety of leadership styles.

In Colorado, 1 in 3 women, 1 in 3 men and 1 in 2 transgender individuals will experience an attempted or completed sexual assault in their lifetime. During April, we recognize Sexual Assault Awareness Month with the hopes of increasing conversations about this very important issue.

Sessions involve interaction with elected officials and leaders, panel presentations, question and answer sessions and tours of key facilities throughout Boulder County, including the jail, recycling center, newspaper offices, Boulder Community Hospital and the Boulder County Recycling and Composting Center.

Class size is limited to 40 people, and applicants are required to undergo an interview prior to acceptance. Tuition is $750 and includes all books, printed materials, meals, transportation and class-related expenses.

A limited number of sponsorships are given each year.
