Loveland/Berthoud home prices hit annual high; Boulder’s drop

The median price for single-family homes in the Loveland and Berthoud area hit a high for the year in August, while the median price in Boulder dropped for the third month in a row after eclipsing $750,000 in May

The figures are from the latest IRES report on home sales in the Boulder Valley and Northern Colorado

The Loveland/Berthoud area median price in May was $300,000 on 189 sales. That median was up from $260,000 in July and $255,100 for August 2013. Loveland/Berthoud’s previous high for the year had been $279,630 in May.

The median price for a single-family home in Boulder was $630,000 on 75 sales in August, down from $701,500 on 92 sales in July. Despite the big decrease, the median was still 6.5 percent higher than for the same month a year ago

Both Fort Collins and Greeley/Evans saw median prices dip slightly in August after 2014 highs in July. The median price in Fort Collins was $286,650, down from $291,157 but up from $266,900 a year ago. In Greeley, the median price dropped from $206,500 in July to $199,950 in August. However, Greeley’s August mark was still 19 percent higher than for the same month a year ago.

 

In Longmont, meanwhile, the median home price rose more than $9,000 in August to $274,000 on 110 sales.
