Wellington down to one medical clinic
WELLINGTON — Miramont has closed its Wellington medical clinic, leaving the city to just one health-care provider.
The Coloradoan reports that Miramont, which opened its Wellington clinic nearly a decade ago, officially shuttered last week, although the plan to close had previously been announced.
Miramont was the only health-care service provider until February when Banner Health Clinic opened.

Miramont said it had been serving a “disproportionate share of Medicaid patients,” according to The Coloradoan. Medicaid typically reimburses health-care providers at a lower rate than Medicare, the federal insurance program for seniors.
Miramont opened nearly ten years ago, after the departure of Cheyenne Regional Medical Center left the city without a health-care provider.
