New Utah-based electronics manufacturer opens in Loveland

LOVELAND — Utah-based Wolf Electronix has moved into a 14,500-square-foot facility in southwest Loveland and expects to be fully operational by the end of March.

The electronics contract manufacturer is located at 710 S.W. 14th St., just across the street from Loveland’s Agilent Technologies campus.

Wolf Electronix started in Orem, Utah, five years ago. The company makes motherboards for computers, telephone systems — even stadium scoreboards. “As long as it has a circuit board in it, we’ll build it,´ said company president Jim Trent Jr.

Last year, the company reached nearly $15 million in sales, earning it a governor’s award for the fastest-growing company in the state, Trent said. “This year we’re on track to do $18 million,” he said.

The company employs about 135 people in Utah and expects to have 30 employees in Loveland by the end of this year. “We’re amazed at how many qualified, unemployed people there are in the area,” he said.

Wolf Electronix has been able to grow in a contracting economic climate, Trent said, because it focuses on its specialty, electronic assembly, and outsources everything else.

“That really allows businesses around us to grow as well,” he said.
