Women of Distinction honored at breakfast
LOVELAND – Eleven Northern Colorado women were honored Wednesday morning for their contributions to the region during Northern Colorado Business Report‘s third annual Women of Distinction breakfast, held at the Embassy Suites in Loveland.
The crowd of about 345 guests, heard inspiring words from Julie Piepho, Cornerstone Mortgage, honored in the category of banking and finance; Pam King, Better Business Bureau serving Northern Colorado and Wyoming, Business and business services; Colleen Laub, Institute of Business and Medical Careers, education; The Hon. Julie Kunce Field, Judge for Colorado’s Eighth Judicial District, government; Annette Geiselman, Discovery Science Center, nonprofit creative industries; Yvonne Myers, Columbine Health Systems, outstanding volunteer; and Jean Shober Morrell, University of Northern Colorado, outstanding mentor.
Honorees who were unable to attend in person were Ann Yanagi, M.D., Poudre Valley Health System, health care; Leona Martens, Weld Food Bank nonprofit human services, and Deanna McCrery, The Group Inc. real estate.

Trudy Sargent, CPA, was the first Woman of Distinction to receive the Woman of Distinction award in the new category of Leading Lady of Northern Colorado, for her pioneering, groundbreaking achievements in a range of fields throughout the region.
