July net taxable sales up 7.6 percent in Fort Collins
FORT COLLINS – Net taxable sales in Fort Collins in July were up 7.6
percent over the same month in 2010, according to a report from the
city’s sales tax office.
The report said net taxable sales in July totaled $203.8 million compared to $189.4 million in July 2010.
Year-to-date, net taxable sales in the city were up by 4.4 percent
through July with increases in all but two of the city’s 18 retail
categories.

The report said the total net taxable sales – including sales subject to
use taxes such as building permits and vehicle registrations – was
$242.3 million, which was 12.7 percent higher than July 2010.
The report noted net taxable sales in the downtown area increased 4.3
percent over July 2010 and lodging tax collections were up 17.3 percent.
The city received 108 applications for new sales tax licenses in July, while 61 businesses terminated their licenses.
