Recovery Cafe exec to step down at year’s end
LONGMONT — Recovery Cafe executive director Jennifer Jepsen will step down at the end of 2025.
Recovery Cafe “provides a refuge of healing and community for individuals on the path of recovery from substance-use disorder, homelessness, mental health challenges, and other life disruptions,” according to a press release.
Jepsen has led the nonprofit for more than three years, expanding peer-support staffing and operating hours, fostering innovative recovery programming, and launching RCL’s Boulder satellite site, according to the release. She also led the effort to secure and purchase the organization’s future home at 801 Main St. in downtown Longmont.
“Jen’s steadfast dedication to our mission has guided countless lives toward hope, connection, and belonging,” board chair Claire Clurman said in a statement. “Her strategic vision and compassionate leadership have set the Café on a strong and sustainable path, and we are deeply grateful for the legacy she leaves.”
Jepsen said, “Each day I have been inspired beyond measure by the bravery of our members and the generosity of our community. The vision I have steadfastly held for myself and for the Café is fulfilled, and I am grateful.”
Recovery Café Longmont’s board of directors has engaged Jennie Arbogash Consulting, a Longmont-based firm, to lead the executive-search process. The search will include broad stakeholder input and a focus on aligning the organization’s future leadership with its mission and values, the organization said.
