DMC Global elevates Kuta to permanent CEO position
BROOMFIELD — Broomfield-based DMC Global Inc. (Nasdaq: BOOM) has appointed Michael Kuta as its president and CEO.
Kuta had been serving as interim co-CEO and before that he was DMC’s chief financial officer. He rose to the interim position after the sudden departure of the company’s CEO.
His experience includes more than 25 years of corporate leadership experience in the energy, petrochemical, industrial and building products industries, the company said in a press statement. Prior to joining DMC, he held a variety of financial and executive leadership roles with The Lubrizol Corp., a $6 billion business of Berkshire Hathaway, and at Lincoln Electric, a global leader in advanced welding equipment. DMC Global was founded in Boulder in the 1960s as a metals manufacturer focused on explosion welding and has since grown its portfolio to include two additional manufacturing businesses.
