Downtown Loveland to host economic-development conference

LOVELAND — More than 200 community leaders from around the state are expected to attend an economic-development conference hosted by the Loveland Downtown District on April 11-14.

The 2023 “In the Game” conference is sponsored by Downtown Colorado Inc., a nonprofit, membership association committed to building better communities by aiding Colorado downtowns, commercial districts, main streets, rural communities and town centers. According to its mission statement, the organization is committed to building downtowns that are prosperous, equitable, creative and welcoming. Its work focuses on establishing partnerships to facilitate and encourage community engagement for increased economic vitality.

The conference is designed to provide educational opportunities and peer-to-peer exchange for leaders of Colorado’s communities who are responsible for economic and community development. A feature of the event is getting participants out of their seats and into the host community, exploring the places and projects that vibrant downtowns love to see.

Solar Operations and Maintenance for Commercial Properties

One key qualification to consider when selecting a solar partner to install your system is whether they have an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) or service department. Since solar is a long-term asset with an expected lifecycle of 30 plus years, ongoing O&M should be considered up front. A trusted O&M partner will maximize your system’s energy output and therefor the return on your investment.

Attendees will take tours of downtown retailers, public art spaces, breweries and the Foundry Plaza. They’ll also attend sessions at the Loveland Museum, Rialto theater and more. Lunches and dinners will be hosted at multiple downtown restaurants and event spaces throughout the conference.

Part of “In the Game” will be the Governor’s Awards for Downtown Excellence on April 13, an event celebrating the places, projects, partnerships, and people who champion downtowns across Colorado.

“This conference is unique, because over 200 attendees from around the state will be attending sessions and special events in locations throughout downtown” said Sean Hawkins, executive director of the Loveland Downtown District, in a prepared statement. “We put a lot of thought and effort into making sure that everyone who attends the DCI Conference will get the full Downtown Loveland experience throughout their stay.”

Downtown Colorado Inc.’s conference app, powered by Carat, will give conference attendees rewards for checking in with events, sponsors, speakers and local businesses.

The Loveland Downtown District is a collaboration between three nonprofit organizations supporting downtown: the Loveland Downtown Partnership, Downtown Development Authority and Downtown Business Alliance.
