Along with her current role at the helm of the county’s Community Development Department, Ellis also will lead the departments overseeing building, engineering, natural resources, The Ranch at the Larimer County Fairgrounds, road and bridge, and solid waste. She will fill a vacancy created when Laurie Kadrich, who previously held the position, was appointed as assistant county manager.

Ellis brings almost 30 years of community development expertise in both the public and private sectors to her new position, serving the last four years as the county’s director of community development. Before coming to Larimer County in June 2018, she served for six years as the city of Boulder’s comprehensive planning manager.

“I’m excited to work towards building a stronger and resilient community, to partner and carry out the successful completion of many projects that are consistent with the goals set forth by the Board of Larimer County Commissioners,” Ellis said in a prepared statement. “Larimer County is a great organization and I look forward to continuing serving our community.”

She will oversee projects including landfill and solid-waste facilities programs; regional transportation; local road and bridge construction; natural resources stewardship; and water, energy, and infrastructure.
