Real estate organization recognizes McWhinney for DEI
LOVELAND — NAIOP Commercial Real Estate Development Association has recognized Loveland and Denver developer McWhinney Real Estate Services Inc. for its focus on advancing diversity, equity and inclusion.
The award came at NAIOP’s Colorado Awards of Achievement.
McWhinney formed a diversity, equity and inclusion committee in 2020 to help guide the company toward a more diverse workplace. Efforts have included donations to community organizations and universities, internal diversity training, employee culture engagement events and community engagement initiatives.
Among its projects has been serving as mentor and coach to students; donations to the University of Colorado Boulder’s Changing the Face of Real Estate Scholarship Fund; hosting students from Metropolitan State University, CU Denver, CU Boulder and Colorado State University; establishing Juneteenth as a company holiday; supporting Disability Pride Month and more.
