WOLF CREEK PASS — As ski areas around the world are gobbled up by large corporate owners, there’s one in Colorado that remains among the independent.The Pitcher family, which has owned the southern Colorado resort since the 1970s, remains fiercely independent, including in its insistence against joining the groups of other independents that offer ski pass programs, according to a report in the Durango Herald.
