Lafayette Music Fest lineup includes eclectic stylistic mix

LAFAYETTE — The organizers of Lafayette Music Festival, the first of what is expected to be an annual event held across venues in and around Old Town, have begun booking bands and their initial lineup, announced this week, is built exclusively of Colorado bands.

Headliners, with descriptions provided by organizing group Rock For The People, include:

  • The Burroughs, “sweaty soul.”
  • Cass Clayton, a Lafayette singer “who dazzles audiences with her vocal talents.”
  • Shady Oaks, a Boulder-based bluesy rock band that performed this summer at Denver’s Underground Music Showcase.
  • 2MX2 — A Denver-based “hip-hop and Latin sensation.”
  • ZBassSpeaks — Lafayette’s first poet laureate.

The participating venues are: Nissi’s Entertainment Venue, The Arts HUB, Muse Performance Space, Tier Two Live at Confluence Garage and The End Lafayette.

Empowering communities

Rocky Mountain Health Plans (RMHP), part of the UnitedHealthcare family, has pledged its commitment to uplift these communities through substantial investments in organizations addressing the distinct needs of our communities.

The Lafayette live-music scene “is special,” Tier Two Live owner and festival co-organizer Dave Heinrich told BizWest in June. “It’s small [compared to nearby communities such as Denver, Boulder and Fort Collins], but actually bigger than a lot of people think it is.”

Lafayette Music Fest will be held on Oct. 8.
