Brix Brew & Tap rebrands as Tightknit Brewing Co.

GREELEY — As it expands its brewing operations and ramps up production, Brix Brew & Tap has officially rebranded as Tightknit Brewing Co.

The brewery, which is located at 813 Eighth St., was founded in 2014. Tommy Dyer, the current owner, purchased the business in 2018.

“We kept the name, kept the concept, but there were a couple years trying to grow into our own identity,” Dyer told BizWest. “A big shift and change was focusing on the brewing program and growing the brewery side of things.”

Empowering communities

Rocky Mountain Health Plans (RMHP), part of the UnitedHealthcare family, has pledged its commitment to uplift these communities through substantial investments in organizations addressing the distinct needs of our communities.

The company hired a new head brewer and minimized the number of guest taps to focus on its own beer.

“We work together constantly on new products,” Dyer said. “Having that desire to create a good local product is something that I’ve always wanted.”

In May 2021, the company purchased a warehouse in Evans to use as a new production facility. That opened three weeks ago, and it seemed like the perfect time to rebrand, Dyer said.

“Because we’re making that jump, we thought this would be the right time to change the name,” Dyer said.

They chose Tightknit for the new name of the company because it reflects their small staff of nine people.

“Being a small group, every role is important,” Dyer said. “We all carry a lot of weight, so the Tightknit name comes from how we want to operate as a group with our customers and our community.”

Dyer said Tightknit plans to add a satellite brewpub at its new brewing facility in Evans, where it will offer tours and special tastings. With that facility now up and running, Tightknit is also set to begin selling its beer at restaurants and liquor stores, Dyer said.
