Longmont distillery raises $1.3M in private round

LONGMONT — Dry Land Distillers, trade name for a craft distillery owned by Breaking Dads Distillers LLC located in downtown Longmont, has successfully closed its first Class A private financing round. At just under $1.3 million, the funds have allowed Dry Land to increase its production capacity by 400%.

According to a press statement, the distillery, specializing in craft spirits that showcase the American West, has shown growth every year since operations began in late 2018. Its core products include rare, single grain wheat whiskeys, an original mescal-style spirit made from native prickly pear cactus and 100% native Colorado gin. 

A U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing was not available as of today.

The company was the recipient of the 2020 Colorado Craft Distiller of the Year award. It recently opened a larger facility at 519 Main St. in Longmont. Its new location, originally built in 1914, was the home of the Valley Farm Dairy for more than 50 years. The new space, in addition to the distillery, includes a mid-century inspired cocktail lounge and tasting room.  “Dry Land Distillers has made an incredible investment and impact to the Longmont community,” said Kimberlee McKee, executive director of the Longmont Downtown Development Authority. “As part of one of Colorado’s certified creative districts, its tasting room is as creative as the quality, native spirits it produces. It’s exciting to watch demand grow throughout the state and beyond,” she said.
