Broomfield Chamber of Commerce CEO steps down
BROOMFIELD — Sam Taylor, president and CEO of the Broomfield Chamber of Commerce, will step down May 6 after almost five years with the organization. Taylor will join Lafayette charity Imagine! as its new director of community and employment services May 16.
Imagine! serves people with physical, developmental and intellectual disabilities. Taylor intends to direct disabled people into jobs that local businesses need to have filled.
“With my background, I’ll be working with the various chambers,” Taylor said.

While Taylor has faced some health concerns recently, the transition to Imagine! was planned before any unexpected health events, he said.
“It had nothing to do with my health, at all,” Taylor said.
Taylor led the chamber through the pandemic, and spoke to that as one of his defining accomplishments with the chamber.
“During the pandemic, the chamber was there for our businesses to promote them, let people know what was open and how to support local businesses, and even helped companies navigate the various funds that came from the federal government as well as state and local governments,” Taylor said in a statement released by the chamber Tuesday.
The search for a new CEO has already begun, according to Broomfield Chamber of Commerce director of membership and marketing Pat Monacelli.
“Our executive committee will review resumes, conduct interviews and hire a new CEO,” Monacelli said.
Taylor will continue to work with chamber members until his departure in May and will attend three chamber events during his final days as CEO.
“I’ve got a lot of transition to do,” Taylor said.
