Pikes Peak SBDC head to lead SBA’s Region VIII

WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Biden has named the executive director of the Pikes Peak Small Business Development Center as the new regional administrator for the U.S. Small Business Administration.

As Region VIII administrator, Aikta Marcoulier will oversee SBA programs in the Rocky Mountain region, including Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming. Marcoulier led the Colorado Springs-based SBDC since May 2012.

“Aikta Marcoulier’s exemplary public service and experience in community development through entrepreneurship exemplifies the commitment and know-how needed to carry out our mission to serve America’s small businesses,” SBA administrator Isabella Casillas Guzman said in a prepared statement. “At a time when a record number of entrepreneurs are applying for new businesses, Aikta will be a valuable addition to our dynamic team of regional administrators as the SBA continues to solve for challenges experienced by our small businesses as they pivot, start, grow, and seize new opportunities presented by a growing economy, and President Biden’s Infrastructure and Investment Jobs Act (Bipartisan Infrastructure Law).”
