Greeley Planning Commission approves new rehab hospital

GREELEY — The Greeley Planning Commission Tuesday approved a use by special review for a new 42-bed, 48,500-square-foot rehabilitation hospital on vacant land near the southeast corner of 71st Avenue and West 10th Street.

The hospital will be located at 6810 10th St., just east of the King Soopers and UCHealth Greeley Emergency and Surgery Center, and north of Sheep Draw. It will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with about 45 staff members working the first shift and 15 working the second shift.

The hospital will be developed by Pensacola, Florida, company Catalyst Health Care Real Estate on land it is purchasing from the UCHealth system. Plans call for construction to be complete in 2023.

This hospital will compete against in-hospital rehabilitation units at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, The Center at CenterPlace in Greeley and the Northern Colorado Rehabilitation Hospital near U.S. Highway 34 and Interstate 25 in Johnstown.
