Denver foods company picks up two Boulder execs

BOULDER and DENVER — Cappello’s, the Denver-based, frozen-fresh food company, has appointed natural-food veteran Rajesh Babu as president.

Prior to joining Cappello’s, Babu was chief operating officer of Boulder-based Birch Benders. He led Birch Benders’ path to acquisition by Sovos Brands.

According to a press statement, Babu’s appointment at Cappello’s follows a year of growth for the brand that saw distribution points increase by 67%. It became the No. 1 frozen pasta brand in the natural channel, according to data from SPINS.
