CSU’s research expenditures reach record $446.8 million in 2021

FORT COLLINS — Colorado State University spent $446.8 million on research during 2021, an annual record for the school and 10% higher than the year before.
“From engineering to behavioral sciences, medical research to sustainability, bio-cybersecurity to animal welfare, CSU researchers are advancing solutions to some of society’s biggest challenges while also revealing wondrous things about how the world works,” CSU said in a news release.
The vast majority of research funding was provided by the federal government.
“The growth of our research enterprise is extraordinary – yet absolutely reflective of the scope and caliber of the research we do here at CSU, and the urgency with which we conduct it,” CSU president Joyce McConnell said in the release. “Our faculty, staff, graduate student and undergraduate researchers are focused on problems that need answers right now, and they are determined to make a positive, demonstrable impact with their work. That impact will be felt here in our own community, across the country and, in some cases, around the globe.”
Key areas of research this year include the COVID-19 virus, the impacts of microbes in Earth’s aerobiome and the identification of new water sources for agriculture.”

Solar Operations and Maintenance for Commercial Properties

One key qualification to consider when selecting a solar partner to install your system is whether they have an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) or service department. Since solar is a long-term asset with an expected lifecycle of 30 plus years, ongoing O&M should be considered up front. A trusted O&M partner will maximize your system’s energy output and therefor the return on your investment.
