FRCC receives military-friendly designation

Militaryfriendly.com has ranked Front Range Community College as No. 2 in the nation among large community colleges for practices that benefit active duty and military veterans.

The designation recognizes a school’s “commitment, effort, and success in creating sustainable and meaningful benefit for the military community,” according to information from the organization’s website. FRCC has also received the organization’s Military Spouse Friendly designation for 2021-2022.

Institutions earning the Military Friendly designation are evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey, FRCC said in a press release. The review measures:

“FRCC Veteran Services provides numerous specialized services and support to veterans, eligible dependents, active duty service members, members of the Selected Reserve, and Reserve Educational Assistance Program recipients, tailored to meet students’ experience and challenges,” Military Friendly said. “Each campus has a dedicated veteran service adviser to assist veterans with their transition to college, both academically and socially, along with a dedicated school certifying official to ensure that veterans benefits are properly awarded in a timely manner.” 

This is the fourth consecutive year that FRCC has earned the designation.

FRCC President Andy Dorsey attributed the ranking to a team effort. “We are committed to helping more veterans and active duty military secure rewarding careers and position themselves for successful futures,” Dorsey said.
