Midtown BID plans summer campaigns

FORT COLLINS — The Midtown Business Improvement District has launched a campaign to restore retail activity in the midtown district after 2020 challenges from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Midtown BID was established in 2017 to support midtown commercial property owners and  businesses in planning, funding and implementing projects and programs. The BID is a special taxing district that uses its funding to support marketing, promotion and retail activity in the district. 

The district hired Jamie Giellis as part-time executive director in November 2020 to help guide marketing efforts. Among the initiatives planned for the summer:

Empowering communities

Rocky Mountain Health Plans (RMHP), part of the UnitedHealthcare family, has pledged its commitment to uplift these communities through substantial investments in organizations addressing the distinct needs of our communities.

A new Midtown BID website and social media.  The www.midtownfc.org now features a searchable business directory and mapping features. The site also includes a calendar of events.

New E-newsletter. Midtown Bound is the BID’s monthly e-news brief to share information  about projects, programs, events and more happening within Midtown Fort Collins. 

Wayfinding and signage program. The BID partnered with local design firm One Tribe Creative to begin the process of  designing and identifying potential locations for new branded signage for the corridor. ▪ Sponsorship of Music & Market – Fridays @ Foothills. Foothills Mall’s summer concert series will be back. Every Friday, from June 18 to Sept. 24 and will feature local artisans and bands from Northern Colorado.
