Three businesses and one nonprofit organization from Northern Colorado and Wyoming have been named recipients of the 2021 BBB Torch Awards for Ethics by the Better Business Bureau Foundation Serving Northern Colorado and Wyoming.

The nonprofit winner was Animal Friends Alliance, which has two locations in Fort Collins.

The BBB in its announcement of the winners said that Torch winners are evaluated by an independent panel of judges who apply the BBB’s trust principles. In addition, nonprofit nominees must have met BBB’s standards for charity accountability.

“We are so proud of all the winners, candidates, and ethics scholar interns who worked through some unique circumstances this year in the Torch Awards process,” BBB president and CEO Shelley Polansky said in a written statement. “The challenges of the past year-plus show just how important it is for business to be built on trust and ethics and the competitive advantage those principles can provide in even the most demanding environments.”

Nominations for the 2022 BBB Torch Awards are now open. The deadline to nominate an organization is July 9, 2021.
