Pueblo-based Xcel power plant hit by uplanned shutdowns, cost overruns

Comanche 3, an Xcel Energy coal-fired power plant in Pueblo that came online in 2010, has charged users 45 percent more than forecast since it came online, the Colorado Sun reports.

The plant, which serves 1.5 million people, has also suffered more than 700 days of unplanned shutdowns.
