City of Boulder releases RFP for e-scooter sharing program

BOULDER — The city released Monday a request for proposals to own and operate an e-scooter and e-bike sharing program, it announced in a news release.

The program would build on the existing Boulder Bike Share program, which has operated a pedal-bike sharing system in the city since 2011.

According to the news release, Boulder is seeking proposals that incorporate state-of-the-art information technology into the e-scooters and e-bikes to provide a viable option for replacing car trips.

“The City of Boulder’s overall goal for the Shared Micromobility Program is to provide community members safe, equitable and sustainable forms of transportation to improve quality of life, provide connections to transit and key destinations; and replace motor vehicle trips to reduce traffic congestion and transportation-related greenhouse gas emissions,” the city said in the news release.

The deadline for the RFP is Friday, April 9.
