State legislators consider axing $4M in minority-owned small biz aid

DENVER — Members of the Colorado General Assembly are aiming to repeal a portion of its stimulus package passed last November that would give $4 million to minority-owned businesses after it was sued.

The Denver Post reports legislative leaders want to get the allotted money to business owners as soon as possible, and the lawsuit is likely to keep those funds from being distributed. Instead, the funds will be available to eligible businesses regardless of the race of the owner.
