Northwest Parkway contributes $100K to COVID relief

BROOMFIELD — The Northwest Parkway LLC has contributed $100,000 to three Broomfield and Lafayette organizations to help with COVID relief.

“As an organization financially affected by, but fortunate enough to be weathering, these challenging times, we take to heart the importance of supporting organizations that are directly fighting this fight and helping those who have been the most impacted,” said Pedro Costa, Northwest Parkway CEO.

Costa said the parkway is a private organization that collects its income from tolls. “If we have a net income, that money goes to our investors and shareholders,” he said. The organization’s board determined that directing some of its income to COVID relief was appropriate given the impacts of the disease.

The Northwest Parkway selected organizations that have positive local and regional impacts, have broad and inclusive constituencies and are effective in providing assistance.

Recipients are:

  • The Broomfield Community Foundation, $70,000.
  • The North Metro Fire Rescue District, $20,000.
  • One Lafayette, $10,000
