UCHealth plans three-story outpatient clinic at Longs Peak Hospital

LONGMONT — UCHealth wants to build a new 79,833-square-foot outpatient-care building at Longs Peak Hospital as part of a larger expansion plan.

The health-care system is proposing to build the new outpatient clinic, medical office building and 201 additional parking spaces near its existing 19,500-square-foot outpatient surgery center on the hospital’s northeast corner, according to site plans submitted to Longmont planning officials earlier this month.

UCHealth also plans to go from 51 inpatient beds for the entire campus to 98 by the end of a larger expansion project in three scheduled construction phases, according to filings.

Solar Operations and Maintenance for Commercial Properties

One key qualification to consider when selecting a solar partner to install your system is whether they have an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) or service department. Since solar is a long-term asset with an expected lifecycle of 30 plus years, ongoing O&M should be considered up front. A trusted O&M partner will maximize your system’s energy output and therefor the return on your investment.

UCHealth wants to add more than 500 new parking spaces for staff and patients to its existing 397 spots over the course of the entire development. That would require special approval from city officials; Longmont development rules would limit the total number of spaces to 596.

However, the health system believes it would need the space because there aren’t enough bike trails or nearby public transit options to get people onto campus.

“The reality also remains that there is no convenient access to local or regional public transport near the Longs Peak Hospital campus through RTD,” UCHealth said in its filings.

In a statement, UCHealth spokeswoman Kelly Tracer declined to offer more specifics on the project because the development plans have yet to be finalized. However, she said, “Patient demand for the advanced care and services of UCHealth Longs Peak Hospital has grown rapidly over the past two years, and we are working through the planning process to meet those needs,” she said.

UCHealth also operates the Longmont Clinic, across the street from the competing Longmont United Hospital.
