LONGMONT — The First Nations Development Institute, a Longmont-based nonprofit group that assists Native American tribes, has received a pair of grants to help fund its Farm to School programs, which increase children’s access to healthy foods.
First Nations’ Continuing the Tradition of Indigenous Farming and Environmental Stewardship project was given a $100,000 grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The U.S. Department of Agriculture provided $50,000 for food and health training programs.
