Colorado’s largest pot company bought for $140M

DENVER — Columbia Care Inc. (OTCQX: CCHWF), a New York-based firm publicly traded in Canada, announced Tuesday its acquisition of The Green Solution LLC in a deal valued at $140 million.

TGS, Colorado’s largest pot retail chain, operates 21 dispensaries, including locations in Longmont and Fort Collins.

The firm “ also operates one of the country’s largest capacity, single site, automated manufacturing facilities that currently produces over 225,000 units of highly curated, branded products every month,” according to a Columbia Care news release. “TGS’s substantial cultivation footprint encompasses three indoor grows totaling more than 250,000 square feet, including a five-level, high-tech vertical grow, as well as 16,000 square feet of greenhouse capacity located on its 140-acre outdoor cultivation complex.”

TGS’ grow facilities are expected to produce 48,000 pounds of cannabis flower this year and as many as 150,000 pounds by 2023.

With the addition of TGS, Columbia Care now operates 74 dispensaries and 19 grow operations.

“This transaction further advances Columbia Care’s promise to maximize shareholder return by making us even stronger, both financially and operationally, as we expect to see the majority of our existing markets transition to less regulated, legalized operating environments,” Columbia Care CEO Nicholas Vita said in a prepared statement.
