BOULDER — Early returns suggest incumbent Boulder City Councilmen Aaron Brockett and Bob Yates could retain their positions.
More than a dozen candidates are vying for six Boulder City Council seats as Councilwoman Lisa Morzel is term-limited and Mayor Suzanne Jones and Councilwoman Cindy Carlisle were not seeking re-election.

Yates, with 10.49 percent of the vote, had secured the most support as of 1:20 p.m., when 100,250 of the anticipated 104,000 votes had been counted.
If the current results hold, Yates would be joined on the new council by Rachel Friend (10.03 percent), Junie Joseph (10.06 percent), Brockett (9.38 percent), Mark Wallach (8.52 percent) and Adam Swetlik (8.60 percent).
