BOULDER and GRINNELL, Iowa — Techstars is expanding yet again, this time with a satellite office at Grinnell College in Iowa.
In a press release Wednesday, the Boulder startup accelerator said the program will debut next September with 10 startups. Grinnell College is a private liberal arts school about 50 miles east of Des Moines, Iowa’s capital and largest city.
If you have driven by a dispensary recently, you might have noticed some business operations taking place outside. But, why is that; and what other changes has the cannabis industry seen since March?
Kerty Levy, a Des Moines-based business strategist and interim director of the Iowa AgriTech Accelerator, joined Techstars as a managing director earlier this month and will head the program.
Techstars has been on an expansion drive as of late, announcing it would open an Alabama accelerator last week. It accepted a $42 million investment from SVB Financial Group, the holding company of Silicon Valley Bank, to finance more startups globally. It also said over the summer that it would open offices in Australia, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates.
