Weld County assessed valuation spikes

GREELEY — Oil and gas development in Weld County caused the county’s assessed property valuation to spike, which could result in as much as $50 million in additional tax collections for the county.

The Greeley Tribune reported that assessed valuations increased 34.13 percent, significantly more than the typical increase seen by the county department of finance and administration.
