Romance publisher offers incubator program
FORT COLLINS — For romance writers representing diverse communities, the Cultural, Interracial, Multicultural Special Interest Chapter of Romance Writers of America and Entangled Publishing LLC based in Fort Collins have partnered to establish the CIMRWA Author Incubator program. The program will provide select authors with an opportunity to benefit from expert mentors, while also having their books published.
Specifically, CIMRWA members who are unpublished or have sold fewer than 10,000 copies per title are eligible to apply. They’ll need to submit one chapter of up to 15 pages and complete a brief questionnaire focused on their writing and reading preferences. Entangled Publishing will conduct a blind review of all submissions and select five winners with whom to collaborate on development of a salable project. One of the selected authors will receive a mass market paperback contract for his or her book; the other four will be offered digital first-rights contracts, with the possibility of print opportunities.
Writers may begin submitting Tuesday and must send in their material and information no later than 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 10. Non-members of CIMRWA may join the chapter and then apply for the incubator program.

People Powered: Preparing Longmont Businesses for Economic Success
Longmont Chamber and FNBO present People Powered on April 24, 2024, aiming to inform business owners about workforce development, housing, and transportation issues.
“We developed this incubator primarily for all those readers who don’t get to see themselves represented on the pages or front covers of their favorite books,” said Liz Pelletier, publisher, Entangled Publishing. “Once we select the five writers and begin the process of elevating them, we’ll be helping to diversify the entire community of romance fiction readers and authors.”
One of the key components of the CIMRWA Author Incubator will be that the five writers selected for inclusion will be teamed with mentors who will guide them on their publishing journey. These mentors — each of whom is a successful, highly respected romance author — are Nina Crespo, Amalie Howard, Naima Simone, Stacy Reid and Vanessa Reilly.
