Jax operates seven stores — two each in Fort Collins and Lafayette, and one each in Loveland, Broomfield and Ames, Iowa. Jax operates either Jax Outdoor Gear or Jax Farm & Ranch stores, or sometimes a combination.
Jim Quinlan is the founder and operator of the chain of stores. The Ames location is where he got his retailing start when he worked at his parents’ military surplus store.
