Fidelity ups stake in Advanced Energy to 10 percent

FORT COLLINS  — Fidelity Investments Inc. increased its stake in Advanced Energy Industries Inc. (Nasdaq: AEIS) to now hold just more than 10 percent of the company.

Fidelity added 1,703,328 shares to bring its total shares to 3,866,217 and a total of 10.11 percent of shares outstanding in the Fort Collins-based manufacturer of power converters, according to disclosures filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

That figure makes Fidelity the third-largest institutional stockholder in Advanced Energy behind the 14.6 percent held by Blackrock Inc. (NYSE: BLK) and 10.5 percent held by Vanguard Group Inc., according to Nasdaq data.

Advanced Energy last week reported $134.8 million in sales in the second quarter of this year, a $61.2 million decline in year-over-year sales and missing Wall Street estimates by $970,000. However, the company’s earnings-per-share figure of 45 cents beat estimates by 10 cents.
